Program Overview

The 2026 Summer Cultural Immersion Program is designed to provide students with an in-depth experience of Chinese culture, heritage, and modern innovation through structured educational activities, cultural workshops, and local exploration.

The program is open to students of all backgrounds and emphasizes cultural understanding, experiential learning, and global perspective.

Program Fee & Cost Coverage
Application Fee
– USD $200 per camp (non-refundable) ;
– The application fee is required at the time of submission and is used to support program coordination and administrative costs.
Covered by the Host Institution
The host institution will cover:
– Program-organized meals
– Local transportation during the program (excluding international flights)
Accommodation
Cultural workshops and experiential activities
– Educational visits and organized excursions
Covered by Participants
Participants are responsible for:
– International round-trip airfare
– Visa application fees (if applicable) 
– Travel insurance
– Personal expenses
Tentative Program Schedule:

June 7

Arrive and check into the hotel.

June 8

Morning

Visit Jiaxing University for campus tour.

Afternoon

Take a boat tour of Nanhu at the 5A scenic area.

Evening

Visit Moon River Ancient Town.

June 9

Morning

Visit Gongfu New Rural Area to experience intangible cultural heritage activities.

Afternoon

Visit Qisheng Technology, the company known for the smart electric bed featured in the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Evening

Language Corner.

June 10

Morning

Visit foreign enterprises such as Holme, Dove, and LEGO (specific company to be determined once the group is formed).

Afternoon

Visit the Italian Michelangelo Ice Cream Museum for ice cream tasting.

Evening

Shopping for souvenirs at Jiaxing Baibai Ban and other shopping malls.

June 11

Middle school exchange day, typically includes cultural and sports activities such as basketball, badminton, and table tennis.

June 12

Morning

Rehearsal.

Afternoon

Closing ceremony talent show.

Evening

Dumpling-making farewell dinner.

June 13

Departure

 

Arrival: July 1, 2026

  • July 2–3: Shanghai
  • July 4–6: Ningbo

Program highlights include:

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) cultural experiences
  • Calligraphy and Chinese painting workshops
  • Intangible Cultural Heritage programs such as “Ten Miles of Red Dowry” traditional wedding customs
  • Coastal and marine fishing culture exploration
  • Visits to modern technology and manufacturing sites, including ZEEKR Smart Factory
  • Local cuisine and cultural immersion activities

Arrival: July 7, 2026

  • July 8–11: Jiaxing

Program highlights include:

  • Intangible Cultural Heritage hands-on experiences
    – Chinese cultural and educational courses
  • Corporate and industry visits
  • Cultural and historical site visits, including Wuzhen Water Town and Jiaxing Nanhu Scenic Area

  • Spots are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Applicants are required to upload proof of payment after submitting the application form.
  • Registration will be considered complete only after payment is successfully received and verified.
  • Applications without payment confirmation will not be processed.
  • Submission of the application form alone does not guarantee a spot in the program.
  • Once the program reaches capacity, additional applicants will be placed on a waitlist.

It will take approximately one week to get a visa after submitting all the documents to Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in San Francisco
