Event Purpose
Join us for the annual Sunnyvale Halloween Pet Parade and Fair on Sunday, October 27, 2024, a fun-filled day for pets, their owners, and animal lovers! Bring your furry, feathered, or scaly friends to show off their best costumes and tricks. From a lively parade to an exciting trick show, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Guidelines that all registers should be aware of:
- Parade space is limited. Not all applications may be accepted. If necessary, priority will be determined based on relevance, timely submission and local nature.
- HORSES: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate horse or pony entrants because we do not have a safe and secure place for them to assemble.
- No solicitation of any kind is allowed; whether for profit or non-profit, political, and/or inappropriate messages.
- Distribution of anything (giveaways, freebies, flyers, etc.) before, during or after the event is prohibited.
- No sale of any product is allowed.
- Upon acceptance of your application, you will be notified of your parade assembly area.
- Please find your assembly area by 9:30 a.m. on the day of the parade. The parade will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. and is usually over by 11:00 a.m.
- Pet owners must pick up their pet’s “refuse” before, during, and after the parade. Bring the necessary disposable bags and use them. The Police Department asks that this is enforced.
Costume Contest
Join us for an exciting costume contest! Here’s how you can participate and have a chance to win amazing prizes:
Photo Booth Locations
- Assembly Area: Capture your costume before the parade.
- Plaza del Sol: Take photos after the parade.
Participation Steps
- Take Your Photo: Visit one of our designated photo booths to snap a picture in your costume.
- Upload to Social Media: Share your photo on your Instagram.
- Tag Us: Tag us in your post (@bigbangartwork @pet_parade_fair) to enter the contest. We will announce the results one week after the event.
Judging Criteria
- Creativity: We will select the top three costumes based on creativity.
- Popularity: The costume with the most likes will also win a prize.
Prizes
- Top 3 Costumes: Winners will receive special prizes, and we will contact you via direct message to arrange mailing your prize.
- Most Likes: The costumes with the three highest like counts will receive additional prizes. We will contact you via direct message to arrange mailing your prize.

People Safety
- Water, hats and sunscreen are highly recommended for people.
- Emergency/Lost and Found is at the information center located at the entrance of Plaza de Sol.
Pet Safety
Please bring water and/or portable water bowls for your pets as the weather can be warm. Extra care needs to be taken with older pets and those with thick coats.
In hot weather your pet can suffer from heat exhaustion and heat stroke. These conditions are very serious. You should be aware of the signs of heat stress, which can include heavy panting, glazed eyes, a rapid pulse, unsteadiness, vomiting or a deep red or purple tongue.
If your pet does become overheated, you need to immediately lower his body temperature. Move your pet into the shade and apply cool (not cold) water over his body to gradually lower its core body temperature. Apply cold towels or ice packs to your pet’s head, neck, and chest only. Let your pet drink small amounts of water or lick ice cubes. Most importantly, get your pet to a veterinarian immediately.
